About the Choir

choir

Kaleidoscope Community Choir sing a wide range of songs from the UK and around the world. The choir is open to everyone, regardless of experience, ability or confidence. There are no auditions and songs are taught by ear, so you don't have to be able to read music. We start the session with a warm up, and simple rounds, chants and unison songs. We then go on to learn more complex harmony songs, which we build on week by week. We occasionally perform, but there is no pressure to do so. If you'd like to join please email choir(at)kaleidoscope-music.org.uk to check that we've got room and it's a convenient time.

Our Conductor

Our conductor is Beth de Lange. She has been leading the choir since 1998. She also conducts Rough Truffles Choir in Belper (Mondays at the Queens Head Pub), The Chevin Singers (Tuesday mornings at Strutts School, Belper), Derby Georgian Choir (monthly on Sunday afternoons), Local Vocals (Tuesdays, Tutbury) and has taught singing for Derby City Adult Education Service.
